(Update: The contest is officially over!

Congratulations to Tony Bertram of Robertsdale, AL on winning a BRAND NEW HP Pavilion dv5 computer, on behalf of HP and AaronTorres-Sports.com!!!

Thank you to all of you who wrote in to share your stories, and my only wish is that I had more than one computer to give out. I genuinely mean that.  I'll be having more giveaways in the future and certainly hope that you'll take the time to check back to the site.

Thanks again!

Aaron Torres)

You know who that ugly mug is, right? Sadly, that's me Aaron Torres. Which I'm sure is very disappointing for you ladies.

Anyway, over the last few weeks, the good folks at HP put me in charge of coming up with my own unique video (the first of what I hope to be many video logs) talking about some sports related items and trends I’m involved in this fall. Books I’m reading, technology I’m using, stuff like that.

At the same time, HP was also incredibly gracious in giving me, Aaron Torres, a free HP Pavilion dv5 computer to give to you one of the readers of this site. Seriously, how cool is that?

Now please understand, there are no catches, no gimmicks, nothing like that. I’d never do that to you guys.

To enter to win the free computer, all you’ve got to do is write me a one paragraph response in the comments section below, or e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and tell me how you’d use the computer this fall. If you’re in school, it could be to help you with a class you’re taking, a big paper you’ll be writing, or just to hit some dude over the head with, who has been hitting on your girlfriend too much. It doesn’t matter to me. Just let me know what you’d do with a free computer, if you won it.

If you’re on Twitter, you can also enter to win simply by re-tweeting this message. Be sure to follow HP on Twitter @HP_PC, and myself @Aaron_Torres.

Now for those of you who don’t know much about the dv5, it’s basically got any cool feature you could want. Believe me, I’m a technology dope, and even I’m having fun navigating this thing...

Some of the features I mentioned in the video include a 14.5’’ HD screen to watch movies, Dolby Advanced Audio to jam out to your favorite Katie Perry song, and a 5.5 hour battery life, if you don’t want to lug the power chord with you all over campus. Also, the HDMI Port allows you to plug the computer right into your HD TV, just in case there’s a game only available online that you want to watch on your big screen.

As for the books I mentioned in the video, the first was The Lost Dogs by Jim Gorant, about the rehabilitation of Michael Vick’s fighting dogs. It’s one of my favorites that I’ve read in awhile, and not just for dog lovers or Vick haters, but really anyone who just enjoys a good redemption story.

The second book was called When The Game Was Ours by Jackie MacMullen. For those of you who are basketball junkies like myself, it was a real eye-opener, on the rivalry between Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and their rivalry in the 1980’s.

Anyway, those are my recommendations, and I appreciate you checking out the post. As always, feel free to share any sports related items you’re using this fall.
Also, be sure and enter to win that HP Pavilion dv5 computer!

The contest will run for two weeks, and the winner will be notified by e-mail, Monday, November 8. If you have any questions, you’re always encouraged to contact me personally at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Either way, we’ll talk soon, and good luck to you!
