Alright I’ve got to come clean.

After writing roughly a 3,000 word manifesto on this weekend’s SEC Championship game that took about a week off the back end of my life, and nearly caused me to start smoking, I am officially crapped out. I’m tired, I’m cranky, and stupidly I stayed up until nearly 2 a.m. watching MTV’s Jersey Shore premiere. Needless to say, I hate myself this morning.

However, I am nothing without you, my loyal readers. And because of it, I put together a patchwork Week 14 preview. It is hardly full of the insight and wit you’ve come to expect, instead basically, just any coherent thought I have on these games

But I did it, because I know there are a few of you that look forward to my weekly previews. Thank you for taking the time out of your week, every week, to read what I write. I cannot thank you enough.

Also, I want to thank Darrell Owenby of SECRivals.com for hosting myself and Allen Kenney of BlatantHomerism.com for a full-fledged college football podcast last night. The insight we all shared was pretty enjoyable, even though I rambled on a little too much like I always do, and had to leave partway through for unspecified reasons that you’ll need to listen to the podcast to hear. Listen here to find out.

Finally, let’s get to the picks. It’s been a long season, with my current record standing at 66-62. It’s one to forget for my personal picks, although I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed sharing them with you every weekend.

As always, home teams- where applicable-are in CAPS and the point spreads are provided by our friends at BetUS.com (If you ever open an account with them, make sure to do so through the link on my site).

It’s been a fun season, and check back all December long for my bowl picks as well. But we still have 10 more games to decide this weekend first.

Enjoy!

Ohio (+12 ½) over Central Michigan: Friday, 8:00 p.m. (MAC Championship Game)

Ohio is better than people realize, and even covered against Tennessee earlier this year. Plus, their quarterback is named Theo (Scott). You don’t want to bet against someone named Theo do you?

RUTGERS (-1 ½) over West Virginia: Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

The chances of Bill Stewart having his team ready to play two weeks in a row are about the same as Tiger Woods winning the 2009 Husband of the Year. For those of you who didn’t get my bad joke, it means take Rutgers.

PITT (+1 ½) over Cincinnati: Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

I’ve been saying it all year: The only way to stop Cincinnati’s high-powered passing attack is with a clock-chewing run game of your own.

Plus, great news, if Pitt wins this game, you’ll get to see Dave Wannstedt in a cotton, short-sleeved dress shirt coaching in the Orange Bowl on January 1. And who doesn’t want that?

Houston (-2 ½) over East Carolina: Saturday, 12:00 p.m. (Conference USA Championship Game)

It’s the Conference USA Championship game, next, on Fox Sports 8!

Arizona (+7) over USC: Saturday, 3:30 p.m.

Nick Foles is not easy on the eyes. Neither is USC’s offense. Foles and Arizona cover, in a game where I won’t be staring directly at the television, for fear of going blind.

Alabama (+5 ½) over Florida: Saturday, 4:00 p.m. (SEC Championship Game)

On Thursday, I wrote a 3,000 word manifesto on this game that could also probably double as a Masters Thesis Paper. Humor me, and read it here.

UConn (-7 ½) over South Florida: Saturday, 8:00 p.m.

South Florida is the weakest team mentally in college football; watching them wilt against Miami last weekend literally made me lose my appetite. They’re 0-2 in two trips to Connecticut, and will want no part of this game Saturday night, when temperatures are expected to dip into the 20’s with snow likely.

Georgia Tech (PK) over Clemson: Saturday, 8:00 p.m.

I understand why people like Clemson: They probably should have beaten Georgia Tech the first time these two teams played in September. But Tech also turned the ball over twice last weekend and also coughed it up a few other times as well. They won’t be that sloppy this weekend.

Nebraska (+14 ½) over Texas: Saturday, 8:00 p.m. (Big XII Championship Game)

It’s the 14th week of the college football season, and I still don’t know how to pronounce Ndamukong Suh’s name. And I call myself a college football fan?

HAWAII (+12 ½) over Wisconsin: Saturday, 11:30 p.m.

Whenever anybody plays at Hawaii this late in the season, they always treat it as a vacation. Wisconsin will be no different Saturday night, and even though they’ll win, they won’t cover.

Last Week: 4-6
Season: 66-62
